Dominic Lee Rayford

Dominic was born on September 30, 1986, in Eschenbach, Germany. He was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 27, 2026. Dominic brought immense pride and joy to his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Venus Hamilton Rayford. His memory will be forever cherished by his surviving family: his father, Lige Lee Rayford and his stepmother, Gwenette Rayford of Stone Mountain, GA: his sister, Starr Rayford of San Jose, CA; and his stepsister, Janise Ross of St. Louis, Mo. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and lifelong friends who loved him dearly. A natural athlete, Dominic spent his childhood and high school years immersed in sports. He excelled in baseball, football, and swimming, but his true passion was basketball. His exceptional talent on the court earned him a basketball scholarship to Snead State University in Alabama. Dominic will be remembered for his fearless approach to life. He found joy in the simple pleasures of playing video games, working out, and spending time at the pool. He possessed legendary confidence on the high diving board, regularly delighting onlookers with his signature dives. He was famously known for his absolute lack of fear on the high diving board, where he loved showing off his skill by executing a perfect backward flip for anyone watching. Later in life, Dominic brought his strong work ethic to the Metro Atlanta area. Over the years, he built a successful career working for several prominent corporations, including UPS, FedEx, Publix, and Amazon. Dominic lived life with vibrant energy and his athletic spirit, and fearless joy for life will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
