Darrell Eugene Nobles, age 59, of Decatur, Georgia, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025. Born on June 8, 1966, to Christine Nobles-Truitt and Jimmie Gross, Darrell was a man whose life was shaped by a strong foundation of faith, family, and purpose. From an early age, he exhibited a quiet strength, a deep compassion for others, and an innate curiosity about how the world worked qualities that would become hallmarks of his character. Darrell graduated from Glenn Hills High School and continued his academic journey at the prestigious Tuskegee University, where he pursued a degree in Engineering. It was there that he began to mold the disciplined, innovative, and caring spirit that would guide his personal and professional life. His years at Tuskegee were filled with rich experiences that deepened his love for learning and introduced him to lifelong friendships. A devoted son, brother, father, and partner, Darrell’s heart was always with his family. He is survived by his loving mother, Christine Truitt of Decatur, GA; one sister, Angela Scruggs-Wellington (Michael) of Warner Robins, GA; and two brothers, Eric Nobles (Cynthia) of Atlanta, GA, and Anthony Nobles of Decatur, GA. He shared a beautiful life with his beloved fiancée, Stephanie Rucker of Gainesville, GA, whose love and partnership brought him profound joy. Darrell took immense pride in being a father. From his union with Jewell Scott Nobles came his cherished daughter, Joi Danielle Nobles of Macon, GA. He also embraced the role of stepfather with open arms, nurturing meaningful bonds with Royal James Banks of El Paso, TX, and Jade Annette Scott of Decatur, GA. He will also be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews—Avery Nobles of Albany, GA; AJ Scruggs of Los Angeles, CA; Arnissa Scruggs of Baltimore, MD; and Tiffany Washington of Cypress, CA—along with a wide and loving circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and dear friends who were all touched by his kindness and gentle spirit. Darrell lived a life marked by generosity, humility, and service to others. Whether offering help without hesitation, listening with empathy, or simply showing up when it mattered most, Darrell made those around him feel seen and valued. His calm demeanor and steady presence were a quiet anchor for many. He was a man of many passions. A lifelong lover of jazz, Darrell found comfort and inspiration in its soulful rhythms. He was also an avid technology enthusiast who delighted in solving computer puzzles and staying ahead of the digital curve. On weekends, he often escaped to the open road on his motorcycle, where the wind and the ride gave him a sense of freedom and clarity that few things could match. Darrell’s legacy is one of love, strength, and steadfast grace. He leaves behind a life well lived and deeply felt, a testament to the impact of a kind heart and a generous soul. Though his physical presence is gone, the light he shared will continue to shine through those who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Darrell’s honor to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Braselton, GA, in support of compassionate care for others.
