Craig Elvie Vaughn

Craig Elvie Vaughn, a man of strength, dedication, and kindness, passed away peacefully. Craig’s life was marked by his unwavering love for family and dedication to his work. His vibrant spirit touched everyone he met. Born to Marzee Jackson and Elvie Vaughn in St. Louis, Missouri on December 6th, 1948, Craig was raised with great love and support. Craig attended Holy Ghost Catholic School as a young boy and later graduated from Summer High School. He began his career while still attending high school and went on to become a licensed security guard during his twenties. Throughout his career, Craig proudly received several managerial promotions within the AT&T Corporation, where he dedicated many years of his life. Craig was a good friend to many and known as a leader and mentor among his friends. After moving to Georgia, he retired from Lucent Technology (now Nokia), savoring and relishing the next chapter of his life. An avid hunter, Craig looked forward to hunting season. Off season, he would joke about the deer sighted near the house adding that he could shoot the wings off a fly. Craig was a verified pool shark with a long history of wins and talked a game to match. He loved music, always ready with a two-step and traveled later in life to attend concerts with his daughter. Mr. Craig was a big believer in starting your day off with breakfast, polling Lindsey's friends crashing at the house for orders from Gutbusters while he picked up his steady #5: bacon, egg, cheese & potatoes. A devoted father and true to his joking character, he would check in with a "You got some cash in your pocket?" as a goodbye. Craig is survived by his daughter, Lindsey Vaughn, his stepson, Michael Henderson (Carmella Henderson), and his grandchildren Kayla Henderson, Kristina Henderson, and Michael Henderson Jr. He will be forever missed but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. We pray for comfort and continued family love, just as Craig has shown and taught us. The family would like to send special blessings to Kayla Henderson and Lee Perryman-Conrad and all of Lindsey's friends for the support and love given to her and Craig Vaughn, aka Pop, aka Mr.Craig. Rest in peace, Craig. You have been a great father, friend, and man. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 1 PM - 4 PM, here at Gregory B.
