Corey J. Crawford

On August 12, 1970, the late Grover Belcher and the late Eleanor Ann Crawford gave the world a shining light by the name of Corey Juarez Crawford. He was raised in the community of Shermantown located in Stone Mountain, Georgia. As a young child he attended Bethsaida Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, and was baptized at Double Springs Baptist Church in Conyers, Georgia. Growing up, Corey enjoyed fishing, camping, competing in wrestling matches, and playing football. Corey attended Stone Mountain Elementary, Stone Mountain High School and was a graduate of Towers High School, class of 1989. He pursued an interest at DeKalb Technical College to become an EMT. However, he found his calling in the field of transportation. Later, he would become an entrepreneur by owning a semi-truck that would take him from state to state, never meeting a stranger. Corey was a people person. He was just as outgoing as he was inquisitive, strong, courageous, funny, spontaneous, family-oriented, kind, and compassionate. If he felt threatened, there was a side one would not want to meet. He was a man of strong will and a fierce protector of the ones he loved. Becoming a father of his two sons Brandon and Bryan, he could not have been prouder. Corey was a very present Dad. He shared his love of sports with his sons through coaching them in little league football and baseball. There was never a game where you did not hear Corey and the boys’ mother Andrea cheering. He was adamant to be there for them. His last accomplishment as a father was starting BC Freight & Logistics with his son Bryan. Corey was a loyal friend and family member. His family will always remember him as a man who had their backs and would show up to help in any way he could. There was never a doubt about how much Corey loved his family. Later in life, with health challenges and impaired mobility, Corey lived life to the fullest, always being the life of the party. God called Corey home on January 7, 2023. He is preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Belcher. His memory and legacy will live on through his immediate family, Andrea Harper Burkes, sons; Brandon & Bryan; sisters; Wanda, Kasondra, Shari, and Nedra and brothers Lamar, Keith, Antavies (Cowanna), uncles; Clinton Belcher, Alex Crawford (Stella), aunts; Cora Belcher, Gussie Brown, Ann Rainwater, and Emma Wilson, and cousins who were like his sisters; Tina, Pamela,Tammy, Gina, Bridgette, and Cosondra; close family Annie Harper & Emory Lee, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Over his life he brought an enormous amount of laughter, joy & happiness to many. He was a friend to all and everyone loved him dearly.
