(215) 765-7065 Constance Mae Clark, daughter of the late Mildred and Earl Clark, was born on May 25, 1936 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She departed this life on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at home with her family, following an illness with cancer. Constance was educated in the Philadelphia School System as a young woman. She married Gilbert Hopkins and together they had three children, her son, Kenneth D. Hopkins who preceded her in death and daughters, Renay D. Boyce and Brenda E. Epps. Constance and Gilbert divorced in 1971. Constance, affectionately known as Connie, dedicated her life to her family. However, she was a mother figure to many beyond her own family. She was never too busy to give her time and wisdom to all whose lives she touched. Connie had a way of minimizing life’s trials and tribulations, hence making lemonade from life’s lemons. She loved decorating, especially window treatments. She also enjoyed gardening and could often be found working in her yard. Connie was member of New Life Church in Decatur, GA. She served as a volunteer in the church office, A member of the Garments of Grace and the Jewels Senior group and attended the Wednesday weekly Bible Study. Connie was also on the Board of the Homeowners Association of Sherwood Oaks subdivision where she resided. Preceding her in death were: her sisters, Jacqueline Hubbard and Erma Becote; her son, Kenneth D. Hopkins. She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughters, Renay D. Boyce and Brenda E. Epps. sons-in-law, Gregory N. Boyce and Michael Epps; twelve grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and long time friends.
