Chyrianne Barker

Mrs. Chyrianne Hillman-Barker departed this life peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2020. She was very active in the Professional Health Care Field for many years and loved her family and friends. Chyrianne was born to the union of the late Ralph Hillman, Sr. and Amanda Marie Cooper Hillman, on August 15, 1949 in Monroe, Georgia, Walton County. She was the second born of three children and exhibited her unlimited capacity for caring for others at an early age. Chyrianne received her primary education and High School education in the DeKalb County School System (Lynwood Park). At an early age, Chyrianne attended the Church of God and Christ in Lynwood Park, Georgia, on a regular basis. For a number of years during her teens, she was very active and enjoyed attending the church. Chyrianne (affectionately called “Gou Gee” by Johnny), was united into holy matrimony with Mr. Johnny H. Barker (her high school sweetheart), and this loving union was blessed with two children (Chewana L. Barker and Dientje W. Barker). She was a loyal and devoted wife to Johnny H. Barker for 54 years. Also, as a wife, mother and daughter; Chyrianne cared, loved, and lived for her family, providing help and support during their times of tribulations and ensuring that they never wanted for anything. She was a very caring and loving grandmother to her grandson, Jonathan Oliver Tuff. Chyrianne lifetime profession was in the field of nursing, where she went above and beyond to care for her patients. She was very thoughtful and giving. She was respected and loved by her many patients for 27 years. At the time of her retirement, Chyrianne was working with Dr. David Rowland. Many people did not realize just how loving and giving she was because she never needed praise. Her deeds were usually kept between herself and the person in which she helped. Also, affectionately known as “Doc” by some, Chyrianne gave better medical advice to people that helped them heal and, in most cases, better than that of a professional doctor. Chyrianne willingness to care and love, gave her strength to continue to care for her husband, children, and the love of her life Jonathan Oliver Tuff (her grandson), while suffering and enduring through her own personal illness. She never gave up, ask for help, nor complain during her eleven plus years of illness. Chyrianne was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Hillman, Sr., mother, Amanda Marie Cooper Hillman, sister, Cylinder Hillman Thomas, and brother Ralph Hillman, Jr. Left to celebrate her life are her dedicated and loving husband, Johnny H. Barker; her daughters, Chewana (Charlie) Barker-Franks, Dientje (La’Mon) Barker; sister, Alpha (Robert) Cook; grandsons, Jonathan Oliver Tuff, Tyler Franks and Jackson Ward, brothers-in-law, Lavanda Thomas, Bobby L. (Susie) Barker, and Albert James Barker; sisters-in-law, Melissa Hillman, May S. Barker, and Olive R. (Thomas) Barker-Graham. Also, members of the following families: Hillman, Jackson, Austin, Cooper; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. A very warm and heartfelt gratefulness to all that prayed, called, mailed cards, bought gifts and showed acts of love. Jonathan Tuff was one of the biggest LOVE of her life – please cherish that love forever. Home Going Graveside Services for Mrs. Chyrianne Barker, age 70, will be held Monday, April 27, 2020 at Kennedy Memorial Gardens, 2000 River Road, Ellenwood Ga.
