Christopher Allen Smith, born on October 16, 1979, in Indianapolis, Indiana, left this world on December 9, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and enduring memories. He was the beloved son of Allen N. Smith, Jr. and Tonya R. Goodrich Pinner. In 1998, Christopher graduated from Dunwoody High School in the DeKalb County School District. His pursuit of education continued at Georgia Southern University and Perimeter Junior College. Christopher dedicated his professional life to Conex Recycling, where he served as a materials handler and trainer. Christopher Allen Smith was a remarkable individual, cherished by many for his unique qualities. His infectious smile had the power to brighten any room, reflecting his outgoing, charismatic, and humorous personality. Known for his unwavering work ethic and outspoken nature, Chris always stood up for what was right, both for himself and others. His love, loyalty, and kindness were evident in his willingness to go the extra mile for those around him. A passionate basketball enthusiast, Chris admired the Duke Blue Devils and the energy they brought to each game. His love for the sport became a lasting legacy that he shared with his son, Jackson. Beyond his role as a sports enthusiast, Chris was a devoted father, a loving son and grandson, and a loyal friend. The impact of his life and light will serve as an ongoing motivation for those who had the privilege of knowing him, inspiring them to pursue their dreams and strive for a better life. Christopher Allen Smith was preceded in death by his grandmother, Elizabeth A. Smith, and his grandfathers, Allen N. Smith and Tony L. Goodrich. He is survived by his loving son, Jackson C. Smith, his mother, Tonya, his father, Allen, stepfather Paul, and stepmother Rennett. He is also remembered by his grandmother, Ruth Goodrich, who adored him from the moment he entered this world. Chris leaves behind siblings Courtney Lee, Dawn Ello, Dawn Pinner, and Kim Nicols, as well as four nieces and four nephews. In addition to his immediate family, Chris is remembered by his Uncle Mark Goodrich, Great Aunt Phyllis Seymour, Great Uncles, Lester McKinney, and Scott McKinney. He will be deeply missed by his brothers in friendship: Terrance Myers, Jerel Heyward, and Devon Myers. Chris leaves a lasting impact on numerous cousins and close family friends who will cherish the memories they shared with him. Christopher Allen Smith's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched. May he rest in peace, and may his memory continue to inspire and uplift those who carry his legacy in their hearts. Celebration of Life Services for Christopher Allen Smith will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 1:00 PM. These services will be recorded and streamed live.
