In Loving Memory of Celia Loretta Woods Celia Loretta Woods, a beacon of light born on December 18, 1950, in the vibrant city of Flint, Michigan, transitioned to the next chapter of her eternal journey, joining her beloved parents, John and Mary Ellen Woods, who had gone before her. Celia demonstrated academic brilliance, navigating advanced courses effortlessly, mastering French, and lending her melodious voice to the Varsity Choir. Her classmates and teachers cherished her for the infectious joy she brought to every endeavor. Post-graduation, she transitioned seamlessly into the professional realm, assuming the role of a receptionist at State Farm Insurance in Marshall, Michigan. In 1974, with unwavering determination, Celia eagerly joined her younger sister in the vibrant city of Toledo, Ohio, where she embarked on a decade-long tenure at the esteemed Champion Spark Plugs Factory. Two years later, in 1976, she transitioned into the educational realm, dedicating herself to Toledo Public Schools with roles spanning from a diligent cafeteria worker to a vigilant hall monitor and custodian, showcasing her versatility and commitment until her well-deserved retirement in 2008. Retirement marked not the end but the beginning of a new chapter for Celia. In 2008, she embarked on a new adventure, relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, to be closer to her heart—her two cherished children, Ebonne Woods Craft (Nicholas) and Erique Woods Edwards. Beyond her professional achievements, Celia found solace and joy in the company of family and friends. Movie marathons were a favorite pastime, and the soothing tunes of Christian radio stations provided a soundtrack to her days. Her feline companions were not just pets but cherished members of her household, receiving the love and care only Celia could provide. Celia's spiritual journey manifested in her devotion to St. John Church of God in Christ in Toledo, Ohio, where she not only found comfort in Christ but also actively led the Children's Ministry. Embracing her new community, she continued her spiritual growth at Newbirth Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. Left to cherish the memories of this extraordinary woman are her surviving family members, including her older brother, Allen Marado Woods (Vicki), her vivacious sister, Tamara Charmaine Hunter Woods, her two Children: Ebonne Woods Craft (Nicholas) and Erique Woods Edwards. As we bid farewell to Celia Loretta Woods, we celebrate a life rich in accomplishments, love, and unwavering faith—a legacy that will continue to inspire and resonate in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
