Caroljean Elizabeth McDonald

Caroljean Elizabeth McDonald (CJ) was born in Kingston, Jamaica on September 15, 1961, the daughter of Stanford and Olive Wheatley. Caroljean attended Point Hill Primary School in St. Catherine, Jamaica and Penwood Jr. Secondary School in Olympic Gardens, Waterhouse, Jamaica. At age 14, she migrated to Bronx, NY and attended John Philip Sousa Junior High, later graduating from Evander Childs High School. After high school, she attended Westchester College in White Plains, NY. Caroljean had a strong work ethic. At age 8, while other children were outside playing, Caroljean could be seen helping in her Aunt’s business. After college Caroljean started working for Chase Manhattan Bank in the Bronx, and she has never been without a job since. As a matter of fact, it was normal for her to hold multiple jobs at any given time. She believed in doing a good job and progressed up the ranks to management in almost every place she worked. She spent the last 18 years with Delta Air Lines, where she mentored many and was one of Delta’s ambassadors for breast cancer awareness. Her most recent position was as Operations Service Manager for Delta Sky Clubs. In recent years Caroljean made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized at White Oak Hills Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, GA. She loved her Sunday School class and was passionate about Bible study and learning more about the God she had come to know and love. Caroljean was industrious, resourceful, positive and very dependable. She was funny, loved a good party and was always the life of the party. She enjoyed traveling, sightseeing, listening to her music, hearing a good joke and having a good laugh … she loved life and was full of life! Caroljean had a strong support system in her family and friends; especially her husband Harold, who never left her side, caring for her day and night throughout her protracted illness. She leaves behind a legacy of love for her children Donovan and Caroljean (CC), and a wealth of priceless memories for her husband, parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, countless relatives and so many others who touched her life and whose lives she touched. Caroljean was loved by all and will truly be missed. Funeral Saturday, July 8, 2017, 11am at White Oaks Hills Baptist Church, 5171 Redan Rd., Stone Mountain, GA., Burial at Hillandale Cemetery.
