.With profound sadness and abiding love, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Matriarch, Carol Ann DaCosta Allen, on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76. She transitioned surrounded by the people she loved most—her devoted husband and her adoring family—leaving behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, on November 16, 1948, Carol embodied warmth, grace, and a tireless spirit of service. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and nurse—roles she embraced with deep love and commitment. Carol dedicated her life to the care and well-being of others, always putting the needs of those around her above her own. In the early 1980s, with courage and determination, Carol pursued a degree in nursing to create a better future for herself and her family. In 1988 she graduated at the top of her class and went on to serve as a Registered Nurse, where her patients were more than just charts or cases—they became part of her extended family. Her compassion, strength, and advocacy made her not only a skilled professional but also a trusted confidante to countless lives she touched. In 1983, Carol married the love of her life, Theodore “Ted” Allen, and together they built a marriage grounded in faith, mutual respect, and boundless affection. Most importantly, keeping their vows: “for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until death do us part.” So, for 42 beautiful years, Carol and Ted lived as partners in every sense—lifting one another through joy and sorrow, laughter and tears. Their union was a shining example of love that grows deeper with time, a quiet and powerful testament to what it means to build a life together. During their early years of matrimony Carol wore many hats: as a wife, a mother, a professional (working diligently) and a student of Nursing, a medical missionary abroad, with the loving support of her husband. Together, they raised six cherished children: Teddy, Errol, Joel, Lisa, Matthew, and Tyler, and lovingly welcomed spiritual daughters Amanda, Kalyn, and Ceres into their hearts and home. Carol’s greatest joy was her family. She poured her heart into nurturing her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, offering wisdom, comfort, and unconditional love. Whether through a warm meal, a gentle hug, or a heartfelt prayer, she made each person feel seen, valued, and loved. A woman of deep faith, Carol and Ted founded the Matthew Allen Mission Fund in memory of their late son Matthew, helping young people travel the world to share the Gospel. Also, they faithfully served a community food bank to help feed those facing food insecurity—a true testament to Carol’s lifelong commitment to lifting others in love and service. Even as Alzheimer’s disease dimmed her memory, Carol’s light never faded. She fought with quiet strength for seven years, determined to leave her family with one last message: that love endures, and that her heart—though weary—remained full of faith and love. We take comfort knowing that she is now at peace, healed and whole in the presence of her Savior. Moreover, her husband, Ted said, “It was a blessing and an honor to have been her primary caregiver during her journey.” Carol is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Theodore Allen, her children: Teddy (Tara), Errol (Deanne), Joel, Lisa, and Tyler (Amy); her spiritual daughters: Amanda, Kalyn, Ceres, Sonia, Tasha, Cynthia, and Nicshawna; her 17 grandchildren: Shenelle, Mone, Iyana, Sheniece(Rashaud), Joel III, Jerome, Catherine (Devon), Joshua, De’Ja, Cynthia Jr., Nailah, Ja Nuri, Aaliyah, Desmond, Isaiah, and Kaliyah; and her five great-grandchildren: Maliya, Alaysia, Layla, Mercy, and True. She also leaves behind beloved nieces: Lisa M., Antionette P-L., Bobbette M., Karen S., and Natasha A; and her two goddaughters: Noelle and Kelsey. She was preceded in death by her cherished sister, Myrtle “Birdie” Taylor, and her beloved son, Matthew James Allen. Carol Ann DaCosta Allen’s life was a testament to unconditional love, perseverance, and faith that never waivered. She gave freely, loved deeply, and served faithfully. She leaves behind a family and community forever better because she was part of it. She will be missed beyond measure—and remembered always.
