Bryan Kevin Latham

Bryan Kevin Latham, beloved father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, mentor, and friend was born on August 20, 1965, in Cleveland, Ohio to Kaythleen Simpson Latham and Warren Henry Latham. He left this life suddenly on Thursday, July 25, 2024. He spent his early years in Cleveland, Ohio, Knoxville, Tennessee, and Dayton, Ohio before moving to Decatur, Georgia in August 1976. He attended Snapfinger School and graduated from Towers High School in 1983. Kevin accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior while attending Cedine Bible Camp in Spring City, Tennessee and was baptized. He continued to attend Cedine for a number of years. As a member of Greenforest Church, he was active in the youth ministry. Kevin loved to travel with his father and his brother Jeff. He had the opportunity to spend a summer in Japan and traveled to more than 18 countries during his lifetime, including China, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, and Australia. After high school, Kevin attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, majoring in Communications and Public Relations and graduated in 1988. He continued to teach in DeKalb county for 24 years. He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He worked for several publishing companies in California and New York before returning to Georgia. Kevin enrolled at Clark Atlanta University and received his teaching certification in 1998. His first teaching assignment was at Canby Lane Elementary. He went on to teach at four middle schools where he was head football coach. He also taught at Columbia High School and was head football coach there. He was taking guitar lessons, and he loved his music. His hobby was DJing, and he was very good at it. He spent two summers in Greece as the DJ at a restaurant there. He recently started a record label and a music production company. Kevin was a loyal friend who looked out for the welfare of his friends and family. He shared his faith and was an advisor and leader who was dedicated to teaching and seeing his students succeed. He was someone that you could always count on. Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Warren Henry Latham. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Skye Elise Latham; son, Kevin Wayne Latham; mother, Kaythleen (Kay) Latham; brothers, Jeffery Latham and Christopher (Jordan) Latham; sister, Lesley Nicole Latham; grandmother, Elaine Simpson; Skye and Kevin Wayne’s mother and dear friend, Marilyn Latham; niece, Sydney Latham, and a host of other relatives and friends.
