Levett & Sons Funeral Home 4347 Flat Shoals Pkwy, Decatur, GA 30034 (404) 241 5656 Brandon Mar-quez Champion was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Faye Strowder and Alvin Champion on July 28, 1990. Brandon grew up attending First Mount Pleasant Baptist Church (FMPBC) where he was baptized by Rev. Dr. Wallace S. Hartsfield II at the age of seven. While at FMPBC he was a member of the Sunbeam Choir, R.B. Hawk Choir, Youth Usher Board, and he completed the Youth Hope Builders Academy (YHBA) at ITC. Brandon matriculated through the DeKalb County Schools system where he graduated from Columbia High School in 2009. While in school he excelled in sports as a member of the Columbia middle and high school Eagles football team. After high school, Brandon worked for Kroger Cold Storage Warehouse while also working part-time for a privately owned construction company. In his spare time, he enjoyed writing lyrics, rapping, and making music with his friends and his music group RockBands. In August of 2012 Brandon welcomed his only child, a daughter named after him (Brandon) whom he lovingly called ‘Bee’. Bee quickly became the apple of his eye and he often referred to her as his ‘Mini-me’. Brandon was known as the comedian of the family, never really taking anything to serious, and always joking around. He was affectionately known as ‘Champ’ by most of his family and friends. Brandon was preceded in death by his loving grandparents Henry and Pearlene Strowder, and Henry ‘Gripsack’ Griffin. He leaves to cherish his memories his parents; Faye Strowder and Alvin Champion, his grandmother; Doretha Champion-Griffin, his siblings; Brenton Sherious Champion, Brittany Champion, Brianna Strowder, Brysen Strowder, Satin Johnson (Germaine), Jacinda Smith, and Kenesia Strowder, his aunts; Dorothy Champion, Patricia Champion, Sherelle Williams (Charlie), Edith Walker (Frederick), Mollie Strowder, Pamela Smith (Tommy), Regina Ray (Michael), his uncles; Ronnie Carter (June) and Michael Carter, and a host of other relatives and friends. Brandon’s infectious smile will live on in our hearts forever.
