Bobby Smith

Bobby Smith was born in Locust Grove Georgia on January 11, 1950, to the late Annie Lee Smith and Oliver Harris. He departed this life on Friday, July 26, 2024. Bobby graduated from Henry County Training School in 1968. He was drafted into the military that very year, and he went on to serve for many years, during those years after asking her several times he married Ever Barber in 1972. Together they raised two children. Being in the military they traveled around to many places, including North Carolina, Texas, Hawaii and Germany, after serving Bob and Ever chose to come back home to Georgia to settle down. He was employed by Dekalb County Water Sewer until he retired. Bobby and Ever always did things together so once out of the military he started studying the bible with Jehovah’s witnesses, Ever had already dedicated her life to Jehovah and it was not to long before he did the same, He dedicated his life to Jehovah July 1989, he served Jehovah faithfully until his death. Bobby loved his family and caring for his yard making it beautiful. He was always helping out his neighbors, whether it was picking up their packages when they were not home or mowing their grass for them when they were not able. Whenever he was called on for help he was there if he could. He will be missed tremendously He leaves to cherish wonderful memories his loving wife Ever, son, Charles Turner ( Yolanda) daughter Cecelia Bohrer, grandchildren, Latoya Shabazz (Ibrahim) , Dameon Turner, Jaylen McMicheals,Tynesha Turner, Trinity Bohrer, Christian Bohrer, great-grandchildren, Laila Turner, Na’ima Shabazz, Evelyn Shabazz, Khadijah Shabazz, Mansur Shabazz, Sisters, Anthonia ‘Peaches’ Mills, Josephine Varner, brothers, Billy Sims, Darrell Sims Sr. Algenon Smith, aunts Patricia White, Jessie Robinson-Hughley, Lola Robinson great -aunt Alberta Sims uncle, Johnny White and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. 5130 Covington Hwy Decatur, GA, 30083 A Private Family Visitation will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
