Bobby A. Roberts

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6 Mr. Bobby Roberts was born on October 31, 1944, in Ellenwood, Georgia to the late Mr. & Mrs. Maud C. “Jack” and Thelma Roberts. Throughout his life, Bobby became known for his strong work ethics, determination and the ability to be the best master mechanic, where his practical skills and dedication earned him the respect of his colleagues and the community. After working for Mitchell Tire Company for fifty years and two days, Bobby retired and continued his business from home. Bobby joined Bethlehem Baptist Church at a very young age. He met and married Janice Ellen Roberts in 1964 and then joined the County Line United Methodist Church. Bobby worshiped at the God Life and Living Holiness Church of Jesus Christ until his health declined. Bobby lived his life and understood that learning was a lifelong journey. He valued hands-on experience and believed the importance of hard work. His resilience and love for his family and friends left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Bobby loved cars as much as he loved his family and friends. His baby girl Ronda stated that “her daddy was the best and most realist mechanic and transmission specialist in DeKalb County, Georgia.” Bobby departed his life on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents; Maud C. and Thelma Roberts, his wife; Janice Ellen Roberts, his brother; Columbus ‘Sonny’ Roberts Jr., and two sisters; Sandra Jackson and Irma Thomas. His legacy continues through his children: Willie Motes, Ronda T. Williams (Walter), and Bobby Roberts, Jr; grandchildren, Caleb Heath, Corbin Heath, Jamiria Motes, Nicholas Marshall and God-children; I’yunna Obie and Ace Leon Obie. Cherishing his wonderful life and memoires are his siblings: Kathy Wright, Janet (Vincent) Sanders, Connie (Donald) Johnson, Phillip Roberts, Phyllis Holland and sister-in-law; Linda Johnson. He also leaves his love to a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends. Bobby Roberts will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, hard work and loyalty will live on in our hearts.
