The cover of Life's Book has closed for Mr. Billie Dean McCalla, of Jonesboro, Georgia when he passed away, Saturday, July 25, 2020. McCalla, Billie "Mr. Billie" Dean 78, of Baldwin County, Georgia was born on July 1, 1942. Mr. Billie joined his forever family at the age of 49 when he decided to make Williams Personal Care Home @ Chads Circle-in the year of 2000, his forever home. Mr. Williams, staff, and residents got to experience this amazing soul as he explored his world in a very hands-on way. Mr. Billie, as he was affectionately nick-named, was an independent young man. He loved living life on his own terms and refused to allow his disability, as well as, “limited-sight” slow him down-and would let it be known when we were in his way. More than anything Mr. Billie wanted a life of acceptance from his peers and his Circle of Support. Billie touched many people's lives throughout his time here on earth. His friends and loved ones are going to miss his gentle soul. He loved getting a good-ole nap in throughout the day, threading his beads, and fussing with his caregivers for doing things differently than he wanted them done! Billie made us laugh with some of his antics, grunting voices and just general stubbornness. Some of the times that Mr. Billie enjoyed most were the times he spent in his Day Support Program (Clayton Center), which is a center here in Clayton county that minimizes the impact of mental illness, and developmental disabilities in the lives of persons served and their families while supporting their inclusion in the community. The experiences and friends he gained were some of his most precious as he was just like everyone else when he was at the center. He is survived by his friends and loved ones at Williams Personal Care Homes, Georgia Mentor, and Clayton Center.
