Beverly Lorraine Callahan

Ms. Beverly Lorraine Callahan of Cleveland, Ohio passed away July 14, 2018. She was born October 28, 1956, to Styretha Mozelle Hooper Callahan and David Emery Moore in Orange County, Florida. Beverly was raised in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School. She later attended Kent State University, where she majored in Journalism, studied African American History and traveled abroad. Beverly was a hard worker and often worked more than one job to make ends meet. In her early years she worked as a Journalist at the Cleveland Plain Dealer, then transitioned to the hospitality industry where she naturally progressed to management. She was a talented individual who could sew intricate garments, play classical piano and had a passion for writing. She also loved to travel and spend time with her family, friends and grandchildren. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marilyn Glymph and brother, Larry Moore. Beverly is survived by one sister, Patricia Callahan Brown; children, Taj, Aiesha and Malachi Callahan; grandchildren, Caitlynn and TJ (Taj Jr.) Callahan and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances. Beverly was beautiful with a harmonious spirit. She had an exquisite personality with an amusing sense of humor. Even though she had many hardships throughout her life; her struggles were often masked by her exuberant presence and contagious smile. Beverly was also known for being an affectionate, loving and caring person. As all things come and go, Beverly has transitioned from this life to the next realm. She was and will remain remembered, loved and cherished in our hearts forever. May her soul rest in peace with our heavenly father. Amen Saturday July 28, 2018, we gathered at Christ The Lord Church of Atlanta to celebrate the life of Beverly. Many thanks to everyone for their presence as we celebrated Beverly and to all who provided flowers for the service and food for the repass. We are sincerely appreciative of Pastor Earl Caruthers, Adrian Minor and the rest of the team for a beautiful service. Our family is deeply moved by everyone's kindness, support and hospitality.
