Betty D. Abernathy

Betty D Abernathy passed away quietly on November 06, 2012 at home surrounded by her Children and Grandchildren. Betty was born October 09, 1949 in Russellville Alabama to Frank True and Lillian Garth.Betty graduated from Sterling High School in Sheffield Alabama. Shortly afterwards she moved to Milwaukee Wisconsin and attend MATC,where she studied Nursing. During this time Betty met her life long companion Willie E, Rogers . After graduating, she was employed by Saint Joseph Hospital in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Willie and Betty moved to Atlanta Georgia where they raised their children.Betty was known as Mom to her children and was affectionately called MeMa or Ome by her grandchildren. She was also called "BD" by those who loved and knew her well. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brother Harold "Rock" Abernathy, Willie E. Rogers; Grandchild Issac Lay.Betty leaves to cherish her memories one son, Okwae A. Abernathy of Conyers Georgia three daughters, Yolonda L. Jackson (Jimmy) of Conyers Georgia, Kimberly D. Weatherspoon (Alvin- Deceased) of Lithonia Georgia, Kienna K Chapman (Chico) of Conyers Georgia, one step-daughter Angela D. Rogers of Milwaukee Wisconsin. Grandchildren, Okwae A. Miller, Mylik M. Neal, Issiah A. Lay, Issac Lay (Deceased) Zachary L. Bennett, Nicholas R. Bennett, Destiny K. Weatherspoon, India N. Chapman, Sexton C. Chapman, Lauryn I. Chapman, Brandon K. Chapman, Maria Rogers.
