Bernice Wright age 73 passed away on March 19, 2024. Celebration of Life service will be held at 11AM Monday, March 25, 2024 at Tabernacle Church 1580 Agape Way Decatur, GA 30035. Final Resting place Kennedy Memorial Gardens 2500 River Road Ellenwood, GA 30294. She attended Harvard University and graduated from Morris Brown College in Atlanta GA. While attending college, Bernice pledged Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and has always shown true dedication. Bernice worked for Atlanta Journal Constitution and Cox Enterprise until retirement. Soon after retiring Bernice was a faithful member of the Tabernacle where she served as the assistant to several of the senior pastors for over 20 years, she also taught life groups classes at The Tabernacle Church. Bernice loved being a mother and a grandmother. She felt that it was very important that her children and grandchildren knew how much she cared for them, and she wanted to make sure that they all had a personal relationship with the Lord. Bernice always enjoyed watching a good black and white movie on the television. She also was the Atlanta Falcon’s number one fan!! Always watching from her front row seat on the couch. As a result of her generous spirit, giving heart and open arms, she was loved by many. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. Bernice departed from this life on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, and is now in the presence of the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Beatrice Wright, and her Brothers Ernest, George, David, and Franklin Wright. Her reverence for Christ and love for family will be cherished in the lives of her loved ones. This legacy is cherished by her daughters, Derya (Michael), Michelle (Edward), and Maria; Son Robert (Karma); Grandchildren, Robert Jr. (Tara), Ryan, Andrew, Joshua, Kalia, Camille, and Brandon; Great grandchild, Kaiden; Sisters Leila, Patricia (JJ), Jacquelyn (Wallace); brother Larry, and a host of Nieces and Nephews and cherished friends. Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
