Beatrice Louise Knight

Beatrice Louise Knight was born on August 15, 1952 in San Jose, California to her parents Sarah Teresa and Edward Lee Knight, she was the second oldest of five daughters, and her family and friends simply called her “Bea”. Bea, seemed to be everyone’s favorite... at home, school and church, especially church, where the family attended Prayer Garden Church Of God In Christ in San Jose, CA. She was extremely involved with her local, district, national youth church, and sang in the of Northwest and Northern State choirs. She attended Piedmont Hills High School in San Jose; CA and afterward was employed at Ford Motor Plant in Milpitas, CA. On November 2, 1971 at a young age, Bea became a single mom and gave birth to her first and only child a son she named Edward Lee Knight (his grandfather’s name-sake). Edward, married young and blessed Bea with two grandchildren. Then sadly, at the age of 29 Edward lost his battle with cancer and preceded her in death on July 24, 2001. It was earlier, in 1998 Bea had moved to Baton Rouge, LA to be near her son and his young family. Then later, in 2007 she relocated to Lawrenceville, GA. Bea worked for over 25 years as a server at Waffle House both in the states of Louisiana and Georgia. She loved interacting with, and serving the public. She was just naturally outgoing, and her customers loved her engaging personality. She made them feel like family coming over for a meal. Bea, leaves to honor her memories, her daughter-in-law: Ta’z Knight of Austell, GA; Grandson: Tewelde Akin Knight of Austell, GA; Granddaughter: Kai Knight and Dobra Amgbaduba of Austell, GA; Great Granddaughter: Nyore; Sisters: Cheryl and James Whitaker of Sacramento, CA; Roslyn and Dirk Davis of Pomona, CA. Bea’s Sisters: Teresa Naomi Knight and Linda Lee Knight, Mother: Sarah T. Knight, Father: Edward Lee Knight, Nephew: Cory Green and Son: Edward Lee Knight, all preceded her in death. She also, leaves to cherish her memories a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM at 351 N.
