Beatrice Coley

Beatrice E Coley was born on May 8, 1937, in the serene hills of Coley Mountain Mandeville, Manchester Jamaica, to the late Tama Coley and Delly Coley. On June 24, 2025, At the tender age of 88, God called her home into eternal rest. Beatrice grew up in Coley Mountain with her Aunt Pearl Dickson and Uncle Delbert Williams who stepped in as her parents when her biological parents passed when she was a very young age. Her life was not easy; however, she persevered. She left her hometown of Mandeville in search of new opportunities and built a life in the city of Kingston, Jamaica until she migrated to Atlanta, Georgia in 1989. Beatrice lived a life rooted in Jamaica she was a hard-working entrepreneur and disciplinarian, her love, and service allow her the ability to serve others. Her strength is beyond words, her wisdom, and kindness will be remembered and cherished forever, her dance moves were out of this world. Beatrice Coley believed that walking with the Lord was not just important, it was essential. Her life was grounded in prayer, guided by Scripture though sometimes she was not able to see to read them, she listened, and lived with integrity and now leaving with the same dignity and love for Christ. Beatrice found joy in the simple pleasures of life: savoring her Island dishes like Ackee & Salt fish, and Snapper, indulging in her favorite sweets treats like fresh mango, pudding, cakes, beef patties, grape nut and rum raisin ice cream. Visiting the beaches, and spending time with her church sisters visiting different historic sites. Her strength was immeasurable, her wisdom unforgettable and her presence irreplaceable. Beatrice will be remembered not only for what she did but for who she was steadfast, loving and truly one of a kind. Beatrice leaves to cherish her memory ALL her children: Lynnette Edwards, Leroy Lamey, Beresford Lewis, Alecia Lewis-Kilandi, she has seven adorable grandchildren Rashida Edwards, Lamar Lamey, Kalecia James, Elikia Kilandi, India Kilandi, Zayi Kilandi, and Brielle Lewis, and one great-grandchild Elijah Griffin. She was proceeded in death by her stepbrothers John Coley and Ashton Cole. Her legacy lives through a host of extended family, friends, and community members whose lives she touches with her love and strength, Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, 2:00pm, at Berean Christian Church Gwinnett 1465 High Point Road, Snellville GA.
