Ashley Victoria Hughes

Ashley Victoria Hughes, 24, of Lawrenceville, GA went to her new home in heaven on August 9th, 2023, in the care of the Bridgeway Hospice and Palliative Care in Emory University Hospital. She was born December 17th, 1998, in Decatur, Georgia. Ashley graduated from high school in May of 2017 and attended college pursuing a degree in Film until she could no longer attend due to health reasons. Ashley had aspirations of being a production designer for Television and Film. She worked, while her health permitted, at Swanky Paws. She enjoyed her work there at the pet grooming and boarding salon as a kennel tech. This was perfect for her due to her love and adoration of all animals. Her reliability and work ethic were quickly recognized and appreciated by the business but it was her personality that made her into a beloved employee. Ashley had great taste in music and entertainment. She had many creative pursuits stemming from her passion for arts, crafts and creating things with her hands. Ashley loved reading, learning, and games. She had a very competitive streak and a wit to match which made her victorious more often than not. She was a loving and sage soul who knew just what to say to make you feel better and laugh even when you didn't want to. Ashley had a strong sense of right and wrong and was not afraid to stand up for what she felt was right. Ashley was a fighter who did not retreat or surrender in the face of adversity. Ashley grew in her faith as part of a bible study group, RGW (Raising Godly Women), from a young age. As an adult she continued her spiritual journey with WOW2 (a Women's Bible study group). Ashley was a cherished member and her insights on the lessons were blessings to all in attendance. She leaves behind her loving family: Grandparents; Peggy R. Hughes, George A. Housley Jr. MD, and Victoria F. Housley. Parents; Daniel S. Hughes and Elizabeth A. Hughes Siblings; Charles Hughes, Christina Hughes, Meghan Hughes, and Lauren Hughes Furry Family; Jessie In addition to her relatives, she leaves behind many friends who she considered as family and loved dearly.
