Arlene Leslie Huff

Arlene Leslie Huff was born July 14, 1965 in Frankfurt, Germany. Arlene is the great-granddaughter of the late William Henry Huff and Ada Mae Brawner of Lexington, GA and the late Eugene McGhee and Lucinda Sims McGhee of Grantville (Newnan), GA. Arlene is the granddaughter of the late Lugene McGhee Bolden Tanner and Joseph Carl Green of Atlanta, GA and the late William Henry Huff and Willie Lou Morgan Huff of Atlanta, GA. Arlene was born to Retired CSM William Howard Huff Sr and the late Willene McGhee Huff. She is the youngest of 9 children. Arlene began her education in Fort Knox, KY then moved to Decatur, GA in 1973 where she attended Toney Elementary School and graduated from Columbia High School in 1983. She was an academician with membership in the National Beta Honor Society and she completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in 1987 from Georgia State University. She furthered her education by pursuing a master's degree in Chemical Engineering at GA Tech. "Sunshine" as her "Deddy" would call her, was a devout Christian, which was instilled in her from a child by her parents, and she was a long time member of Mt Olive Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA. Arlene spent her quiet times reading the Bible and writing. She was a gifted and excellent seamstress with her own authentic style. Arlene cherished and leaves to mourn those whom will hold her memory dearly: An endlessly devoted father, William Howard Huff Sr, 3 brothers, Charles Henry Garrett (Peggy), William Eugene Huff (Patricia) and Minister William Howard Huff Jr (Cheryl), 5 sisters, Dr Cassandra Denise Huff (Dennis Williams), Daphne Aline Bevel (Henry), Luvenia Willene Huff, Regina Louise Copeland and Anita Cynthia Huff White. Although Arlene did not birth children, she wrapped her heart around her 9 nieces, 13 nephews, 6 great-nieces, 2 great-nephews, 1 great-great niece and 1 great-great nephew. 1 aunt, Leona Odessa James, 3 uncles George Gilmer, Alvin James, Norman Wilson and a host of cousins, classmates, friends and neighbors. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, 3:00 PM at our South Dekalb Chapel 4347 Flat Shoals Pkwy., Decatur, GA 30034.
