Mr. Anthony Tolbert

On April 17, 2023, heaven touched earth and after a job well done, Anthony Tolbert of Lilburn, GA, went home to be with the Lord. Anthony accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior early in adulthood. By God’s grace, his caring heart for others was reflected in his life, as it was in death, by being an organ and tissue donor. Anthony was the third child born to Rosie and George Tolbert on May 14, 1967, in The Bronx, New York. He moved to Atlanta in 1989, but stayed true to his roots as everyone knew him as “Tony from the Bronx.” Anthony had several careers at which he thrived: Construction Foreman, Auto Mechanic, and Service Technician. Anthony was loving, funny and never met a stranger. He always wore a huge smile, had a contagious laugh, and a big heart. He was easy to love and a great man whose impact will be forever felt. His selfless spirit gave him the ability to sacrifice, support, forgive and cherish everyone who crossed his path. Always the life of the party, Anthony enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and adored his pets. His heart will remain ingrained in the lives of all who knew him. Once Anthony called you friend—you had a friend for life! Anthony was preceded in death by his son, Lorenzo Jose Tolbert; brother, Rodney ‘Prince’ Tolbert; grandparents, George and Sarah Phillips (Maternal), Fletcher Tolbert and Alberta Turner (Paternal). His beautiful life will forever be cherished by his children: Jeffrey Anthony Tolbert of The Bronx, NY, Monique Jackson of Norfolk, CT, Anthony Alonzo Tolbert, Brionna Jefferson, and Xavier Prince Tolbert all of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Janaé, Zell Prince and Ari L.; parents, Rosie (Eddie) Hamilton of Ocala, FL and George (Edith) Tolbert of The Bronx; brother, George Tolbert, Jr. of Fort Pierce, FL: sisters Lisa Marie (Carlos) Forde of Dacula, GA, Carolyn Tolbert of Lilburn, GA, and Giovanna Tolbert of The Bronx, NY; bonus sister, Samantha Ladson of Manhattan, NY; best friend/brother of 45 years Michael “Rockwell” Hagans of Bronx, NY, and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends.
