Mr. Anthony Sherrod Gilmore

Mr. Anthony Sherrod Gilmore, affectionally known to most as Tony, was born in Chicago, IL on September 9, 1963, to Ruthie Murrell and Houston Lee “H.L.” Coleman. Tony gained his wings on Friday, May 5, 2023, at 9:09 AM (his and Janina’s birthday). His family relocated to Rochester, NY where he completed his education at Benjamin Franklin Jr-Sr High School in 1981 and an associate degree in business management at St. John’s Fisher University. He began his love for management/people connections at Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY. Anthony dedicated his life to Jehovah and became one of the Christian witnesses at age 19. In 2022, Tony chose to rededicate his life to Christian Witnessing. Tony worked in many retail and property management capacities all over the metropolitan areas of Atlanta, GA, and Memphis, TN. However, he was fortunate to become one of the best Assistant Portfolio Managers with Tricon American Homes, now Tricon Residential. When Tony was hired by Tricon Residential, which became not just a position to him but a greater part of his extended family and friends. He embodied the mission of Tricon, which was providing exceptional rental experiences to every resident who makes one of their houses their home. Tricon’s philosophy of taking care of their team first and empowering them to provide the best customer experience in the rental housing market was what Tony always desired in his work/life balance. Ultimately, Tricon displayed compassion and humility with unwavering support during Tony’s health trials. And as Tony worked hard, he believed that life was to be enjoyed and celebrated! He especially loved watching sports. Tony unconditionally loved the Dallas Cowboys, through winning or losing, he was a Dallas Cowboy for life! But most prominently, Tony believed in family, friends, and having a great time no matter what the occasion. His brother Houston Lee Coleman, Jr. preceded him in death along with many other beloved family members. Tony leaves to cherish his memories, Mrs. Janina Daniels Gilmore, a dedicated wife who sacrificed and worked tirelessly to provide admirable care for her husband during their time together; two loving daughters, Miss Jevona Lynn Gilmore, Rochester, NY, and Miss Janiya Clair Daniels, Dacula, GA; his loving, devoted, and gentle mother Ms. Ruthie Murrell, Memphis, TN; his loving and present, father Houston Lee “H.L.” (Momma Charlene) Coleman, Mound Bayou, MS; his mother-in-love, Ms. Ruthie Ann Webb, Clinton, MS; father-in-love, Michael Brooks, Shelby, MS; brothers, Timothy (Beverly) Coleman, Jackson, MS; his sisters-in-love Jasmine Webb and two brothers-in-love Jamie Daniels and Jeffery Webb, Jr., all of Clinton, MS. Tony was loved by a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends. Tony was loved by many friends and will truly be missed by many more.
