Mr. Anthony Richard Fields, II

Anthony, affectionately known as “Ant”, attended Fostertown Elementary School in Newburgh, New York. Anthony’s parents relocated to Snellville, Georgia in the summer of 2005. There Anthony attended R. L. Norton Elementary School where all his new teachers got to experience his great sense of humor and his love for Spider-Man, cars, and the Dallas Cowboys. He attended Snellville Middle School next, and his teachers had no idea who they were getting the pleasure of teaching. Anthony then went to South Gwinnett High School and during his junior year he enrolled in a program which would afford him the opportunity to choose his Military Branch. Anthony graduated a year ahead of his graduating class and began his career in the United States Army as a Petroleum Supply Specialist. He served his country with great pride and determination, taking in all the opportunities provided. His tours in the Army included Korea and Colorado. The Army helped sharpen Anthony’s organizational skills, while instilling in him the tools needed to be a responsible and productive Serviceman. Throughout his career in the Army, he gained a host of loyal coworkers and friends; these relationships have sustained the test of time. They have supported one another throughout the years. While serving in the United States Army, Anthony was successful in obtaining his CDL. After finishing his duty in the Army, Anthony returned home to Georgia to be closer to his family. He began working for ABF Freight where he was a dedicated employee for over six years. Anthony was a hardworking employee that always gave over 100 percent. He enjoyed working for the finer things in life, often working overtime to accomplish his goals. He owned his own home, and he purchased his dream car and enjoyed driving it. Anthony accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age and was baptized shortly afterwards. He enjoyed spending time with his family, close friends, and line brothers. Anthony and his father shared several fond memories together. They both enjoyed grilling and had a love for driving. Tomahawk steaks were Anthony’s favorite meat to grill. Anthony had become so great at grilling his Pops passed the tradition on to him and named him the “Grill Master” of the family. He had become excellent at grilling. Anthony adored his Pops and emulated a lot of his fathers great qualities. He learned to be an exceptionally skilled driver from him. Anthony was also his mother’s love. They had a daily routine of texting and calling every day. Anthony never missed any of his mom’s phone calls. There was no question that his love for his mom was immeasurable. Whenever she needed him, he was there for her. Anthony loved his parents dearly and would affectionately call them Shelly and Tony from time to time, which he thought was extremely funny. Anthony was an amazing brother. He would spend hours on end playing video games with his sister, Breonna. They both shared a love for Spider-Man. At a young age, Anthony and Breonna were inseparable. Mom and Dad called them Bonnie and Clyde. They brought innocence and playfulness to our home. Anthony also wore his brother hat well, never forgetting his baby brother, Aaron. This was another special bond indeed. They shared several big brother moments and even a few funny ones. Anthony would always crack jokes on Aaron. Despite that, one thing Aaron always had over Ant, was that he was taller and bigger than him, especially his feet. Aaron would call him “little feet”, then laugh at Anthony. This was a constant running joke between them. Anthony loved his dad, mom, sister, and brother very much. Anthony was indeed a comedian and always kept a smile on everyone’s faces. His love for music and playing video games on his surround sound, dancing, and playing spades, will forever be remembered. Anthony had a very big heart and kind spirit. He knew how to light up the room, but if it needed to be said he didn’t hesitate to say it. Anthony was hilarious, lively, and playful. On August 25, 2023, Anthony’s life was tragically taken. God then sent his angels to welcome Anthony home. He will be cherished by his father, Anthony R. Fields, Sr.; mother, Shelly T. Fields; sister, Breonna N. Fields-Veal; brother, Aaron R. Fields; nieces, Layla A. Veal and Ryleigh S. Davis; aunts, Valerie Irwin, Andrea K. White, Veronica L. White, and Tanya Brewer-Wilson; uncles, Shelron T. White and Henry (Uncle Hank) Smith, Uncle Caesar Gaiters III and Uncle Henry King; great aunts, Barbara Stafford, Linda Stafford, Brenda Stafford, and Tsegereda Stafford; great uncles, Ernest (Uncle Roy) Stafford and Robert Stafford, Jr.; and a host of “ride or die” cousins. Anthony will be truly missed by his family, childhood friends, and all those who were acquainted with him both near and far.
