Her Amazing Story We are here to celebrate the Home Going of Mrs. Anna Lee Rivers Goudy, a Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt, Cousin, In-Law and a Friend. She was one who lived life so vividly, but now she has departed this life into the Eternal-life. Mrs. Anna Lee Goudy, daughter of the late Sinclair and Annie Mae Rivers was born on June 04, 1949, in Knightsville, SC. She departed life quietly at Northeast Georgia Medical Center on April 03, 2021 Anna moved to New York with her mother and step-father Wallace Watson in the early 1950s where she attended and graduated from John Bowne H.S. in Flushing, NY in 1965. She attended Rush Temple A.M.E. Zion Church, Merrick Park Baptist Church and Blanche Memorial Baptist Church in Jamaica, NY. She helped raise her baby sisters Cynthia and Verletta from birth and they all remained remarkably close and loving. Anna married Artis Goudy in 1976, which they were childhood sweethearts since 1964. Anna and Artis were committed to one another. They were the proud parents of two daughters, Egera and Kanishia. Anna raised her beloved nephew like her son Terrence Rivers. Anna worked for the United States Postal Service in the early 1970s and Bernard Fineson Developmental Center until retiring in 2003. She relocated to Gainesville, GA in 2004. In 2008 Anna and her family moved to Winder, GA until here eternal-life departure. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Artis Goudy; two brothers: Arthur Lee, and Roscoe (a.k.a) Donnie Rivers; one sister Cynthia Weatherford; one step-granddaughter Miracle Goudy; four sisters-in-law. She leaves to cherish in her memories two loving and devoted daughters: Egera, Kanishia; step-children Kelly and Lance; son-in law Thomas; two grandchildren: Artisea and Thomas Jr.; five step-grandchildren: Lia, Shaquira, Trinity, Jada, and Nevaeh; two step-great-grandchildren: Liam and Amara; brother Sinclair; sister Verletta; one step-sister Barbara; three sisters-in-law: Annelle, Jeanette, Carolyn; and brother-in-law Harold, and a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Anna Lee touched many lives along the way and she will surely be missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. Celebration of Life Services for Anna Goudy will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 1:00PM.
