Alice Faye Hill

Alice Faye Hill, affectionately known as Faye, was a dedicated and compassionate nurse who touched the lives of countless patients, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2023. Born on February 8, 1951, in Terrell County, Georgia, Alice was the beloved daughter of Clara and Charlie Brown, Jr. Alice's journey of service began at Monroe High School in Albany, Georgia, where she graduated in 1969. Driven by her desire to help others, she pursued a career in nursing. Alice attended Monroe Vocational Technical School, where she acquired the knowledge and skills to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Her passion for healing and caring for others became evident as she embarked on her remarkable career. For 23 years, Alice devoted her skills and expertise to Phoebe Putney Hospital. Her unwavering dedication and exceptional care left a lasting impact on both her colleagues and the patients she served. Alice's commitment to her profession and her genuine concern for others led her to join the esteemed team at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, where she spent 25 years of her career. Her work at Grady Memorial Hospital further solidified her reputation as a compassionate and hardworking nurse. Her kind and gentle demeanor brought comfort to those in need, offering solace during difficult times. She touched the lives of countless individuals, leaving an indelible imprint on their hearts. In her personal life, Alice was married to Howard Fruster, which ended in divorce, and later married her life partner, James Hill, who preceded her in death. Alice found solace and joy in her favorite pastime of fishing, spending serene moments on the water, connecting with nature. Alice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Hill, her parents, Clara and Charlie Brown, Jr., brothers Otis Clarence Brown, Charlie Gene Brown, Wallace Brown, Curtis Brown, sisters Charlie Ruth Brown and Mary Sue Williams. She leaves to cherish her memory, two beautiful daughters, Shantaliea Holloway (Loganville, GA) and Elizabeth Diane Hill (Lithonia, GA), who were the pride and joy of her life. Alice's legacy of love and care continues through her three granddaughters: Tyler Holloway, Madison Holloway, and Rhian Holloway. They will forever cherish the memories of their beloved nana and the wisdom she imparted to them. She is also survived by her brothers: Dr. Artis C. Brown (Annie) of Albany, GA, Lawrence Brown of Macon, GA, Raymond Brown of Oklahoma City, OK, Anthony L. Brown of San Angelo, TX, Martin S. Brown of Valdosta, GA, and Tori B. Brown (Tina) of Dawson, GA and her sisters, Mrs. Willie Mae Williams of Columbia, SC and Dr. Joan B. Bryant (Henry) of Canton MI, who will hold Alice's memory close to their hearts. Additionally, Alice is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear friends and colleagues. Alice Faye Hill will forever be remembered for her unwavering dedication, her compassionate nature, and her profound impact on the lives she touched. May her soul rest in eternal peace. The services for Ms. Alice Faye Hill will be at Gregory B. Levett & Sons- Rockdale Chapel on July 8, 2023 at 11AM
