Mr. Alex Berton Burt

Alex Berton Burt, a beloved father, brother, uncle, cousin, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi, on January 14, 1942. He was one of nine siblings, affectionately known as the Divine Nine, born to the late Hosey (Doc) Burt and Bessie Nash Burt. Alex graduated from Sallis High School in 1960 and shortly thereafter, he moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he embarked on a journey filled with love, dedication, and hard work. He married Yvonne (Winters) Todd and together they raised three daughters. Alex dedicated many years of his life to Wisconsin Motors, where he showcased his work ethic and commitment. In 1984, he ventured into entrepreneurship, following his passion for hairstyling by opening Forever Yours Hair Designs Salon. Through his salon, he touched the lives of countless individuals, leaving a lasting impact on so many of his loyal customers who effortlessly became his friends. Family was always at the center of Alex's world. He leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories, survived by his siblings: Lillie B Sullivan (Willie), Lamar Burt (Helen), Anotha Burt (Daisy), Beverly Edwards (Nate), Roy Burt (Toni) and Percy Burt (Florence), three daughters: Lisa Burt, Annette Anochie (Fred), Juovanna Burt, seven grandchildren: JoNell Danley, John Danley, Jocelyn Danley, JayVante Bond, Kennedy Anochie, Makayli Anochie, Cassidy Evans and five great-grandchildren: Roman, Naomi, Jailynn, Savannah and Samantha. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Allie D Clark (Ruben) and Eva Mae Nash (John Booker). Alex passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at the age of 82. Alex will be remembered for his kindness, his candid sense of humor, his enthusiasm for sports and his unwavering love for his family. Alex or as some of you may know more affectionately as “Al, Daddy, Pookie, Papa Alex, Brother, Cousin Al, Uncle Al, or Mr. Burt” will be deeply missed by all who knew him and his memory will be Forever Ours.
