Yolanda Hubbs

On December 25th, 2023, Yolanda Jacqueline Hubbs passed away peacefully at the age of 69. She was born on December 6,1954 in Los Angeles, California, to the late Elmer and Ethel Hubbs, and was the second oldest of six children. Yolanda attended George Washington Preparatory High School and graduated class of 1972, where she then attended San Jose State University majoring in Sociology. Yolanda joined the workforce by working at Burger King at the early age of 13. She then went on to work various jobs and gracefully retired working in healthcare as a Medical Claims Examiner for Blue Cross. At the tender age of 21, Yolanda began her own family by giving birth to her first daughter, LaShanda, following up with the birth of her second daughter, Ebonie, at the age of 28. Yolanda enjoyed spending quality time with her family and her three grandchildren. She loved reading, cooking, watching her stories, dancing, talking mess, and listening to music. Yolanda possessed an unwavering generosity, always ready to assist others, whether it meant giving her last dollar or the shirt off her back. Her heart was truly golden. Yolanda is survived by her two daughters, Lashanda and Ebonie, and a son-in-law, Dewayne Sr. Her legacy continues through her three grandchildren: Kaila, Dewayne Jr., and Ivorie. She is also remembered by her sisters, Marie, Patricia, Cassandra, and Ethel. Elmer, her brother, and Jackie, her sister-in-law, share in the memories. Yolanda's impact extends to her bonus daughter, Elisa, and her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends. Yolanda was an exceptional individual--a cherished daughter, a wonderful sister, an extraordinary mother, a nurturing aunt, a loving grandmother, and a sincere friend. Knowing Yolanda meanth loving her, and her absence leaves a void that will be deeply felt. Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on SATURDAY, January 13, 2024 at 3:00PM.
