It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roscoe Jackson Jr., who departed this life unexpectedly on August 22, 2025, at the age of 63. Born in Columbia, South Carolina, on December 17, 1961, to Mary Francis Sharpe and Roscoe Jackson Sr., Roscoe was a proud son of the South whose quiet strength, deep love for his family, and unwavering loyalty defined the life he lived. Roscoe proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, and later dedicated himself to public service through his work with the U.S. Postal Service, where he was a trusted and familiar face. His commitment to hard work and duty—both to his country and his neighbors—was matched only by the depth of love he had for those closest to him. He was a devoted father to his daughter Jade Jackson and son Yohance Jackson, a guiding light in their lives whose wisdom, patience, and humor will be forever missed. He was a proud grandfather to Jeremiah Jackson and Deava Jackson, who brought endless joy into his world. Roscoe was also a beloved brother to Brian Jackson, brother-in-law to Melissa Jackson, a cherished uncle to several nieces, and a lifelong friend to Allen Pierce, whose bond was more like family than friendship. Roscoe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dawn Jackson, whose presence was a light in his life and whose loss will forever leave a space in his heart. Their bond was one of deep love, and together they created a family full of beautiful memories. He is also survived by his dear in-laws, Lucius Brandon and Janice Dunn, who embraced him as family and supported him throughout his life. The love and unity they shared with Roscoe were a testament to the strength of family and the ties that bind. Roscoe’s untimely departure has left an emptiness that cannot be filled. Yet, those who knew him will remember his steady presence, his kind heart, his quiet strength, and the way he made you feel seen and supported without saying many words. He was a man of principle, humility, and deep compassion—a beloved brother, father, grandfather, and friend who will live on in the hearts of all who had the honor of knowing him. May his soul find peace, and may his memory continue to be a blessing. Celebration of Life Services for Roscoe Jackson, Jr. will be held on Saturday September 6, 2025 at 3PM.
