Phillip Reid II

Phillip Royce Reid, Jr. was born December 10, 1981 to Phillip Roy Reid, Sr. and Heidi “Porsche” Hopkins at UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles, California. Phil Jr. was the oldest of three sons. Phillip resided in West Palm and Boynton Beach, Florida where he attended Berkshire Elementary School, Congress Middle School and Atlantic High School. Later Phillip moved to Georgia, attending Grayson High School. During these years Phillip played the trumpet, and was stellar at football, basketball, and track. Phillip had a unique character that could only be adored. He was a people person, well loved by others where no one was a stranger. He was fun loving and would light up a room with his entry. He had an infectious personality which kept all laughing and guessing. He was God-fearing and would often say “God Knows My Heart.” His hobbies included his love for animals; he enjoyed breeding and caring for them. He enjoyed putting together vehicles; he would move as slowly as he could to assure its accuracy. He enjoyed the nature and tranquility of flowing water. This is where he often found his peace. He was the ultimate food connoisseur, where he took pleasure in not only eating, but watching others enjoy the meals he created. For over 20 years Phillip was employed at Coca-Cola, rising to a longstanding supervisory role. With his remarkable personality many of his co-workers became more like family, supporting each other and holding each other accountable, like “iron sharpens iron.” Phillip enjoyed his employment with Coca Cola, he was a devoted employee, mastering each role he was assigned with the company. Phillip met the love of his life, Nicole Shrouder, and they wed on Sept 4, 2004. They spent the last 20 years together. Together they created a loving family of beautiful, creative, witty, and caring children, Noelle (age 27), Preston (age 20), Jordan (age 15), Tonie Tia (0), and Payton (age 12). Phillip enjoyed his children being engaged in football, basketball, softball and cheerleading. He was one of their staunchest, and vocal supporters. The children viewed their Father as youthful, hilarious, relatable, and they enjoyed talking together. The family attended New Birth Missionary Baptist Church and 12-Stone Church, baptizing the children and engaging them in youth ministry. Phil Jr. embodied the character of being a strong, truth-telling father, passing on important lessons of pride, faith, and character to his young children. He leaves the deep love of his wife and children to inspire, encourage, and bring joy in the times ahead. Phil Jr. leaves to celebrate and share his memory with his wife, Nicole Shrouder and children, Noelle Ramdass, Preston Reid, Jordan Reid, and Payton Reid. Brother and best friend Vincent Reid and wife Brittany Reid; brother, Jonathan Stephen Smith, Sisters, Autumn Carballo and Candace Smith Chekwa and husband Captain Luigi Chekwa, father, Phillip Roy Reid, Sr. and wife Dr. Emilie Smith Reid. Phil Jr’s grandparents Isaac and Brenda Reid (99 and 94 years of age respectively) and host of dear uncles, aunts, and beloved cousins, in laws, nieces and nephews, who though deeply saddened, celebrate Phil Jr.’s life. Celebration of Life Service will be held on SATURDAY, October 12, 2024 at 1:00PM in our GWINNETT CHAPEL. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 11th from 12:00PM-8:00PM.
