Mrs. Nakia Larissa Ward

Nakia Ward was B.K.A. “Kia” or “Tauntie” or “KiaTooBossy” was born February 24, 1975 in Lima, Ohio to Patricia Ann Ward. On Wednesday February 21, 2024 Kia was suddenly called to eternal rest to be with the Lord. Kia was a mother, wife, sister and auntie and girlfriend to many. It didn’t matter to her if you were biologically related to her or not, family was everything to her. She was a true solider and ready to step anytime. Kias’ door was always open and she was a shoulder to lean on. Lakesha, Kia’s eldest sister, has a fond child hood memory of Kia sucking her thumb and sleeping, a lot. As the two became adults Lakesha and Kia would sing “Me and You Must Never Part!” a song from the movie “The Color Purple” while doing the same hand gestures, giggling and saying “I Love You and see you later.” Angel, one of younger sisters, would tag team cooking Thanksgiving dinner. Angel would start cooking at night and Kia would get up early to finish cooking in the morning. She would always walk pass Angel and say that she could smell the food all the way to her room and everything smelled good. Her sister Linda remembers the two riding bikes through the Sunrise neighborhood and having long conversations. Kia would light up any party they would go to with dance moves like no other. Linda also remembers Kia pulling up one day with a car seat and asking her “where did she get this light skinned baby from?” because she never showed a belly bump. Kia then replied “this is my baby” and that’s the introduction to LaDaija. Nakia was raised majority of her life in Georgia with her aunt Vickie and cousins. She then moved to Conyers, GA where she settled and raised her daughter with her husband Markey and Linda. Kia didn’t take up any hobbies but when it came down to celebrating her friends and family she was always down to party and a big supporter. Anytime anyone came around she always made sure to make you feel welcomed and at home. She didn’t shy away from telling you exactly how she felt or thought and was notorious for saying “Gots to do better!” Any surrounding children Kia was stern on their academics and her main goal was that they all graduated highschool. Nakia leaves behind her Husband Markey a.k.a. “Favorite Uncle” or “Uncle Peanut”. Her daughters Ladaija , Angelia and Keaija. Her grandmother, who was also her gossip partner, Dora Mae Ward “Madea”. Her sons John, Varrenzo, Tay Tay and Jameer. Sisters Linda, Lakesha, Angel, Lawanna, Tyler, LeeAnna, Dorian and Pamela and Mickey. Brothers Keith Allen (late), Torriano, Jermaine, T.L. and Quincy. A Host of nieces and Nephews and great nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. You have came and embarked on many lives in this world. You shook the hood up with this one. We love you and miss you! Until we meet again, my love!
