Elizabeth Clairvil Dasmy

Mrs. Elizabeth "Michou" Clairvil**, age 59, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, in Gainesville, Georgia, after a courageous battle with systemic lupus spanning more than three decades. Her strength and grace throughout her illness were a testament to the remarkable woman she was. Born on February 11, 1966, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Elizabeth began her education at Les Soeurs Salesiennes. Her early years were marked by a deep connection to faith and community—values that would guide her throughout her life. After immigrating to the United States, she continued her academic journey with determination and excellence. She graduated from Bassic High School in Connecticut and went on to attend Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC). She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from St. Mayo University and later completed a Master’s Degree in Information Technology at American InterContinental University (AIU). Elizabeth dedicated over ten years of service as a New York City Correction Officer—a role that reflected her unwavering commitment to justice and public service. Beyond her professional life, she was deeply involved in community and charitable work. She founded Open Hand Orphanage and co-founded the group Temoin de la Lumiere. Her devotion extended to several organizations including FENADBH (Fédération Nationale des Don Bosco d'Haïti), FMA (Filles de Marie Auxiliatrice), and the Women's Rock Club. A devout Catholic, Elizabeth was an active parishioner at Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Church and St Lawrence . She also remained closely connected to her roots through the Haitian Salesian group in New York, where she emerged as a respected leader within the Haitian community. Elizabeth's vibrant personality touched everyone she met. Known affectionately as “Michou,” she was a people person who radiated warmth and compassion. Whether offering help to someone in need or preparing elaborate meals for family gatherings, she gave of herself wholeheartedly. Her kitchen was often filled with laughter and the aroma of delicious food—her way of bringing people together. She found immense joy in traveling, cooking, attending church services, spending time with loved ones, and especially doting on her grandson Everett. Despite the challenges posed by her illness, Elizabeth never let it define her spirit or limit her generosity. Elizabeth is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband Lesly Dasmy; sons Greg Dasmy and his wife Jordan—with whom she shared the joy of welcoming their son Everrett—and Christopher Dasmy and his wife Kashema Gray. She also leaves behind four beloved sisters: Mrs.Sherly Augustin Georges and Husband Dr. Frantz Georges , Mrs.Mona Fontaine and Husband Evens Fontaine, Mrs. Myrtha Clairvil, and Mrs. Mirnelle Elioner and Moliere Elioner. Brothers: Mr. Farengton Cairvil and wife Coretta Clairvil , Mr.Andrenord Clairvil and wife Bonite CLairvil. Her legacy continues through numerous nieces and nephews who cherished her guidance and affection: Daryl Georges, Mr.Darnel Georges and wife Stacia Georges, Britney Georges, Evens Fontaine Jr., Shana Fontaine,Tyler Fontaine, Abigail Elioner, Anaelle Elioner, and Kaisha Cherie. Louis Charles Clairvil, Linda Daniel,Mrs Martine Espinal ,Yolaine Albert, She now joins her parents—Tancrede Clairvil and Marie Floriana Louis—in eternal rest. Elizabeth "Michou" Clairvil leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, faith, and service. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest peacefully in the embrace of angels.
